For my day-to-day (and hiking) use, I use an iphone (old XS Max). However, I have a second (rugged) Android Device as backup which I use occasionally. This is a Nokia XR20.
I mounted it with a RamMount Quick-Grip once on the 1150 GS to try during my UK TET trip last year. However, this was not a success, because the RamMount holder could not hold it well. Therefore, I decided to put it in my bag after just 30 mins after I came through the Eurotunnel. Additionally, I don't think it is suitable as a primary device, because of the screen brightness (500 nits is not readable in bright sunlight).
Unfortunatly, I don't have any pictures from the phone on the BMW GS.

So, I cannot recommend a device from my own experience. However, the DMD T-665 might be an option. If I would need to start looking, my specs would be:
Rugged device
6 to 6.6'' screen (use in landscape mode)
Good screen brightness (>700/800 nits), especially when you use it often
Dual simm, with esim support (I miss this on the XR20, nice for data use when you go outside the EU and can get a regional or local esim)
Mounting:
Some phones have special mounting (like the DMD T-665). However, my current choice would be Holder4Bikes. I did not use it yet (decided to use the Garmin as backup device in the 2024 Illyria Raid after tweaking the map layouts), but it is quite rugged (and very! heavy). As mentioned, I have a bad experience with the RamMounts for the Nokia phone. The Nokia is too heavy and the mounts do not hold it offroad. For the rest, I like RamMounts.
