As mentioned, I really don't like the standard map cursor in Locusmap, especially because I am color blind and need a better contrast. To give an example, included screens before and screens after changing the cursor:
Standard cursur (in the middle)
Changed and moved cursor (bottom) (map has turned)
For me, it makes a big difference. I don't whom to give credits for this. In the past, I have created my own using paint, but also downloaded some from the Internet. Anyway, you can download these from below.
After downloading the icons for manual installation, you should copy the *.zip file into the ../icons/cursors folder of your tablet or phone (within the Locusmap folder where the data is stored - that location is dependent on your Android version).
The version for automatic installation downloads the file and takes care of putting these in the right folder (in this case also the ../icons/navigation folder just to be sure).
Then the last thing to do is configuring the cursor within Locusmap. Go to Settings, Controlling in your Locusmap menu:
Go to Settings, Controlling in the Locusmap menu
Then first switch the "Shift Map cursor" setting to the right (enabled). This wil give you a better view on the map when navigating.
Then go to "Map cursors" and select "navft". If needed, you can adapt the size.
Go to "Map cursors" and select "navft"
Then you are good to go! Enjoy.
